HERS Rater Training in May

HERS Raters are qualified to: perform duct tightness and blower door testing for home builders, certify projects for the ENERGY STAR program, rate new homes in all states (except CA), and assist homeowners with problems such as ice dams, moisture, and mold.

Online Component:

May 1st-May 12th, 2017 – Weekdays 9am-12pm

5-Day Classroom/Field Component:

May 15th-19th, 2017 –  Weekdays 8:30am-5pm – Fitchburg, MA

Training Fee is $2495 (Get $200 off if you register by April 11th!) and includes $1895 for the combined online and classroom components and all four RESNET exam fees, a $600 value.

The training includes: a brand new module to prepare students to take the Practical Simulation Exam;  all four RESNET Exam Fees- including the new Practical Simulation Exam ($600 total value); the Northeast HERS Training and Reference Manual ($100 value); a one-year Associate Membership in the Alliance ($50 value); 30 hours of online study; 5 days of classroom/field study; a thorough review of basic energy concepts; field experience with blower door testing and duct blasting; two of the five supervised ratings required by RESNET; and training on the latest version of rating software. Both online and classroom components are required for rater certification. Final registration deadline is April 18, 2017. Bill Spohn of TruTech Tools took the stage next, and we had the world premiere of the TruTech Airflow trainer. Bill guided the audience through a detailed and fascinating discussion of the right and wrong, the true and false of airflow testing and then entertained a mob of folks around the trainer. Awesome!
