Akron, OH – August 13, 2014 – TruTech Tools, LTD is pleased to announce a change in ownership. James C. Bergmann (father) and James L. Bergmann (son) have stepped down and current President and CEO, Bill Spohn and VP and Sales Manager, Eric Preston are now the owners of TruTech Tools.

TruTech Tools is the largest online distributor focusing on the tools and test instruments used in the building performance and HVACR markets. The company has enjoyed consistent growth since its founding in 2007, and is currently ranked as a top distributor for many of its key product lines.

Departing partner, James L. (Jim) comments, “I am proud to have had the opportunity to contribute to the growth of TruTech Tools. Joining the company as a partner and GM in 2009, Bill has channeled his experience in test instrument engineering and marketing into building TruTech’s product portfolio and marketing processes. Eric also came to TruTech in 2009 and has since helped to not only increase sales, but also help to innovate and motivate TruTech internally and externally.

In a time when many technicians found it difficult to source their needed test instruments, Jim and Bill’s foresight in launching educational and training add-ons allowed customers to purchase and, more importantly, to use the products with confidence. As Bill explains, “Assuming majority ownership of TruTech is as tremendous an honor for me as it is a natural progression. Eric and I look forward to attracting new customers, expanding into to new markets and developing our services to better meet their needs as we streamline operations to keep the company, flexible, reactive and focused on the ever changing marketplace.”
