Tru-Thermal Imaging from your phone

FLIRONE_ViewAThe future just snuck up on me. This is a real game changer! Tru-Thermal Imaging from your phone from FLIR.

“Our mantra is ‘Infrared Everywhere’”, says Andy Teich, CEO of FLIR, “and we really view infrared becoming the sixth sense for human activity to ‘see’ what’s out there in ways the human eye can’t.”

Get your sixth sense in gear for $350. The FLIR One will certainly stimulate the mass market for IR imaging. Learn more HERE and see videos HERE and HERE.

Availability for the FLIR ONE is slated for spring 2014. It will come in colors to match your iPhone (R) (the first compatible devices are iPhone(R) 5 & 5S). In addition to thermal and standard camera elements the unit packs its own rechargeable battery for two hours of power or for use to boost iPhone(R)  battery life. A nice touch!

Our TruView: FLIR’s NEW THERMAL IMAGING CAMERAS AND TEST AND MEASURMENT PRODUCTS

CaseyCasey1 TruTech Tools was pleased to be present at FLIR’s distributor launch of nine new Thermal Imaging Cameras and an exciting line of new Test and Measurement products. FLIR’s President and CEO, Andy Teich gave a superb overview of FLIR’s mission to take “IR everywhere.” Teich noted how FLIR provides a customer focused package of Design, Functionality, Value, Ruggedness, and Support in everything they do. Additionally, FLIR has created a complete ecosystem for managing information with apps and software along with BlueTooth and WiFi enabled products that combine physical measurement data and thermal images to maximize your efforts and share your results. Traditional IR imaging only allows you to see beyond visible rages into the world of heat signatures. Kudos to FLIR for incorporating their patented Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging technology (MSX) into ALL E-Series cameras, even the $995 Model E-4. Rather than simply blending visual and thermal images (dilution), MSX takes thermal image quality to the next level by augmenting a thermal image with details from a visible image. In one sense, there is almost no longer a need for a separate digital image as FLIR’s new MSX technology embosses digital camera detail right into thermal images. Seeing Is Believing

MSX TECHNOLGY AND DARK PRECISION, TOGETHER FLIR E8 The new Thermal Imaging Cameras include the all new E4, E5, E6, and E8 models, the second generation E40, E50, and E60 and the utra-performance T-600 and T-600bx. Starting at $995, with a camera for all budget ranges, the new E-Series models feature FLIR’s patented Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging technology (MSX) which raises key visible details from an on-board high resolution digital camera onto the infrared image. MSX makes it much easier to identify and locate issues while preserving the full integrity of the thermal image. FLIR’s new Dark Precision interface is simple but powerful, making the cameras easier than ever to use. Details on each of these new E-Series cameras can be found HERE. THE NEXT GENERATION OF TEST AND MEASUREMENT FLIR T&M FLIR’s new line of test and measurement products builds upon 50 years of work serving military, government, and commercial customers, with a commitment to innovation, quality, and reliability. What impressed us most, about the new line of T&M products was the added features designed to meet the needs of customers to solve tough, real-world, field problems. Problems like ghost voltages from VFD’s and lighting in the work-space were considered and addressed. The NEW T&M line includes the CM78 Clamp Meter, CM83 RMS Power Clamp, MR77 Pinless Moisture Psychrometer, DM93 True RMS Industrial Mulitmeter, and the VP50 Non-Contact Voltage Detector and Flashlight. All these high-end  T&M products include powerful (nearly blinding!) work lights and IR thermometers, and METERLINK (BlueTooth) technology which lets you wirelessly add readings of electrical and moisture data to the infrared image on your FLIR Cameras (Exx series and up). Even the non-contact voltage detector includes a powerful work-light and indicates by vibration in your palm, not in your fingertips – a sensation you don’t want to feel when looking for “hot” lines! 16+16 Level I Infrared Thermographer Course

Themography Certification

Finally, you can earn Level I Thermography Certification without missing an entire week of work!

Our 16+16 course is a two-part, ASNT compliant program which combines 16-hours of classroom and hands-on education with 16-hours of online learning.  This unique approach allows you to complete your Level I training without missing a week of work or incurring added travel costs.

 16-hour Classroom & Hands-on Training

Our classroom segments combine theory and application discussions with hands-on camera experiments. From thermodynamics to proper level and span settings, we take a step-by-step approach to teaching the “how and why” behind each action. Through hands-on exercises you’ll learn the importance of proper camera settings and how to collect, capture, and diagnose thermal findings.

16-hour Online Learning Program

Using an ASNT compliant program which has successfully trained thousands of thermographers worldwide, our online segment features narrated presentations, self-directed activities, and practice quizzes designed to supplement our classroom training. The online program and accompanying printed book include the learning materials required for you to remotely complete the theory portion of Level I training.

Get Started

The online segment can be completed before, during, or after your classroom training.

Hands-on Training

This component is key to our program, as it provides an opportunity for you to experiment with different infrared cameras through instructor lead, hands-on exercises. You’ll learn about the power of heat transfer, reflectance, and emissivity as you discover what it takes to capture a quality thermal image. By the end of the two days you will be able to properly setup, focus, and capture infrared images using a thermal imager.

Demo Cameras Provided by FLIR®, FLUKE® and TESTO®

During training you have the opportunity to demo infrared cameras from today’s leading manufacturers. Discover the benefits of features such as high resolution detectors, digital camera integration, and Wi-fi capability. This is a great opportunity to try different thermal imagers before deciding which to buy.

Level I Certified Infrared Thermographer Exam Included

Students who successfully complete the online and hands-on training components are eligible to take a final written exam to earn Level I Certification through Infraspection Institute®. Exam may be completed in-class or online (PC with web camera required).

FREE National Listing for Energy Auditors

Hard to beat this!

A new website, www.EnergyAudits.com, launched at the Affordable Comfort Conference in Kansas City provides a searchable (by state and zip code) national database of certified (BPI or RESNET) Energy Auditors, Energy Raters and Home Performance Contractors.

Presently EnergyAudits.com is encouraging certified professionals to be listed free of charge.  Once the database has representation in all 50 states, they will begin a national marketing campaign to drive traffic to the site and inquiries to you! (Up to 46 states at last check!)

The website connects homeowners, realtors and builders to the community of certified home performance professionals; provides content for homeowners – i.e. what is a diagnostic home energy audit, info on tax incentives, an energy efficiency products store, energy saving tips etc.

A Basic Listing  (company name, address, contact and phone) is FREE to certified professionals listed in the Energy Auditor/Energy Rater database and/or the Home Performance Contractor database .

A Professional Listing is $250 per year and includes the above basic info along with hyper-links to the your website and email address, a customizable company bio/sales message space, color certification logos of BPI and/or RESNET displayed next to the listing. Professional listings will also have leads forwarded to them via email. The annual is fixed, no matter how many leads you receive during the year.

Both Basic and Professional listings will be awarded up to a 5 star rating based on client feedback forms with the comments viewable to prospective clients. This rating system will maintain the quality and integrity of the home performance industry as it grows rapidly over the next few years.
